This accommodation offers a great starting point for exploring the city. Several out of center attractions are easy walking distance from this unique, old monastery converted into a more formal version of a backpackers. You will have clean, basic rooms with clean bed linen that is changed often. There is a TV with Italian options, good wifi, and a decent breakfast if you decide to include it.
The hotel does not offer in-room luxuries, such as iron and kettle/tea/coffee facilities due to Italian law restrictions.

I wanted the experience of staying in a converted convent which was within walking distance of the main town. Convitto Della Calza - Casa Per Ferie suited my request perfectly. I felt it was in a very good location close to the Biboli gardens and a fair but not too long walk to the main sites. It is basic accommodation, but clean, with a simple breakfast with enough choice so you won't starve. Some good inexpensive restaurants can be found nearby too. Our night was disturbed by banging window shutters and bedroom windows, it was extremly windy (blowing a gale), which may be because of the location or that we were just unlucky with freak weather!
The showers are miniscule and the beds are quite hard and unforgiving.

Pleasant staff and hotel had good ambience. Basic rooms, but they were clean and a sufficient size. The ample nearby parking was appreciated and the hotel was able to provide a 30% discount when we stayed. The courtyard was a pleasant place to chill in the evening after a long day. We had a room overlooking the road which could be fairly noisy at times, however the windows were very thick and provided excellent sound insulation when closed which almost completely blocked the traffic noise.
Poor air conditioning (although better than the other two hotels we stayed at in Tuscany). I stayed in a twin room and although I think the beds are a standard single size, they had a footboard, which tall people like myself may find annoying.

The hotel had an excellent location, close to a large park and within a comfortable walking distance to the main attractions of the city. The breakfast was delightful, with plenty of sweet and savory options, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Don't have any issues at all.

The location. It's so close to all point of interest.
A retina conference was held the same weekend I stayed. I was having a glass of wine with 2 friends and we were told that we couldn't be drinking at the garden - where tables and chairs were set up for guest to sit and enjoy the hotel - because they had "a very important conference with very important doctors". It seems that this manager wanted to impress the people attending that conference without taking us in consideration. What he did not know was that my friends were doctors, too. My future recomendation for this hotel manager is that if he wants to impress people he needs to start by painting the building - which need it real bad. The rest of the staff were excellent!

Clean rooms with fresh linens and decent wifi make for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to key tourist locations adds an added bonus.
Lack of in-room luxuries like a kettle or coffee facility is disappointing, and no on-site dinner or lunch options means having to venture out for each meal.

very nice stuff, friendly, nice room, clean, free internet, parking with discount from the hotel 12,60 per day, exactly next to the hotel, walk everywhere, next to Boboli garden and a bus outside from the hotel and in 5 min u are in the centre of the town
breakfast was ok,they have to find a way keep warm some things because if u are late a half hour from the breakfast time (7.30 p.m.)bread is so cold that u can not eat it,bad coffee.

The hotel was in a great area, just a short walk from all the main attractions. the breakfast was delicious, with fresh croissants and a good coffee machine. We loved being able to relax in the internal garden and enjoy the courtyard views. the rooms were always kept clean and comfortable.
The hotel lacked a bar or vending machines. This would have been great after a long day of exploring the city.

The tranquility of the cloisters and garden.
Parking an asset but expensive. Longer walk into town than anticipated. Room needs refurbishing. No bar or restaurant.
